Make A Hole In Emptiness
My viewpoint changed. I began looking beyond the surface. Looking inward, a small quiet, empty octagon kept appearing. Moving beyond representationalism, using charcoal and oil bars, I masked off pure white octagons and made automatic marks around them. Focusing on the action of these marks, I simply tried not to a draw in a deliberate manner. A series of works poured forth: “Making a hole in emptiness…”
